And such great advice. I’ve been thinking about that lately… because sometimes I get carried away by a poem and it’s not “factual.” Often I wonder if that’s cheating. But I guess per your professor, it most certainly is not! 💌
Rosa, I appreciate your thoughts on this. I have learned so much from this approach to writing; it's easy as The Poet to think a poem revolves around me when, in reality, I am revolving around the poem that has yet to fully emerge. I'm eager to see how these ideas might inspire you creatively!
Ok so I actually wrote a poem about the fog in Seattle and included a totally false “fact” because it really added to the poem and thought about this post!!
In my poem I said “The fog rolls in and out of the mountain five times a day,” which… may or may not be true. I’ve never counted. Haha! Thanks again for the advice 👏🏼
